Introducing Sarah Sinclair, Chief Engineer, Auckland Council

Sarah became Chair of ALG in late 2017, having been Auckland’s Lifeline Utility Coordinator since 2016. She brings a background of infrastructure best practice, both in her day job as a civil engineering manager, and through the Institute of Public Works Engineers where she is Northern Branch Chair. Her engineering background is mainly water engineering and natural hazard risk management, with wide ranging curiosity about other sectors. Sarah has a passion for resilience, including being involved in the rebuild in Christchurch, and in resilience planning for infrastructure and assets in Auckland. She is also involved in innovation and sustainability, diversity initiatives and academic collaboration around infrastructure improvements.

Sarah represents the Lifeline Utilities at Auckland Council’s Chief Executives Group (CEG) and attends the Auckland Emergency Management Council Committee meetings. Please contact her at sarah.sinclair@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz .
